From travel and literature to a decent beer The Flask and Pen looks at life as a series of incredible moments bound together to make a journey. As with every journey it is better with friends so please join me in setting out to learn, see, and do as much as humanly possible.
As the name implies The Flask and Pen focuses on a range of topics centered around travel, food, literature, writing, photography, and of course booze. Beyond this, one of the core features will follow our editor endeavor to mastering some new skill month after month. Whether that means learning the history and recipes of Irish cuisine, writing a novel, training for a marathon, or pursuing some other insane challenge.
The founder of The Flask and Pen, Henry O’Byrne, is an eternal optimist who attempts to channel an inquisitive, borderline addictive, personality into intellectual pursuits. As an avid reader, traveler, foodie, writer, general nerd, and drinker he is often found researching or exploring as the mood suits him. Of course, like the craic of a grand pub comments, contributions, feedback, jokes, and new friends are always welcome to join in.
